Hello everyone,
First and foremost, a massive thank you to every single person who has reached out to us over the last couple of weeks regarding the struggles with renewing and reactivating your CVA memberships for the 2026/2027 year.
To be completely honest, seeing how many of you went out of your way to highlight these issues has been really reassuring. It shows just how much you care about supporting our village and keeping our common grounds intact.
That is exactly why these technical issues feel so frustrating to us—the absolute last thing we want to do is make it difficult for you to support the hall and community!
This week and the next are dedicated to getting to the root of the problem.
What’s Causing the Issues?
As you know, this is the first follow up year we have used the automated system for memberships, and we have hit a few unexpected stumbling stones:
The "Anniversary" Flaw: The system was automatically calculating a one-year membership from the exact date it was purchased. For example, if you joined in June 2025, the system set your expiration for June 2026. Obviously, that is incorrect! Our memberships should always run strictly April to April.
The Rejoin Glitch: Some of you have texted us letting us know that even when your membership has reached its expiration date, the system still isn't letting you rejoin.
What We Are Doing Right Now (And What to Expect)
To fix the date flaw, we are about to go into the backend of the system and manually cancelling the memberships that are overriding the April deadline.
Important Note: If you receive an automated email saying your village membership has expired or been cancelled, please do not panic! This is just us clearing the system's memory so it resets properly.
Once your account is manually cleared, you should be able to log in and rejoin for the April 2026 – April 2027 period.
However, because of the second glitch mentioned above, we are still testing to ensure the "rejoin" button works seamlessly for everyone.
Please Hang In There With Us!
We know this is annoying, and we so appreciate your patience. Please do not give up on us!
If you have tried to renew and failed, take a breather from the website for a few days while we working on it. We will post another update as soon as the system is fully cleared and running smoothly and send out emails to everyone who has previously signed up.
Thank you again for your overall support, your patience, care, and for being such a vital part of our village.
Cheers,
Franziska

Thank you Franzizka for keeping this all running 🙏 We appreciate it very much.
