Using our Hall
Find all the info you need while using the Village Hall.

Before your booking
You're need to collect and return the Hall keys to the key safe promptly. This is located by the entrance of the Hall. The access code will be shared with you prior to your booking. This is changed frequently and at random.

During your booking
Our Hall is a fantastic venue shared by the community, please treat the Hall and its contents with respect.

Record any damage, breakages and incidents so that we can offer support and ensure the Hall is properly equipped and maintained.
If something is missing, doesn't working as expected, or an incident occurs, please let us know using our Village Hall report form. Incidents must be recorded within the on-site journal.

Please be mindful of our neighbours. Noise generated by activities inside and outside of the Hall shouldn't disturb to others nearby.

The Hall has a maximum capacity of 100 people and for safety reasons this mustn't be exceeded. The Hall is strictly no smoking, this should take place outside.
Evening bookings on Sunday to Thursday must finish by 11pm, Friday and Saturday night bookings must finish by 12am. The Hall must be locked 30 mins after finishing.
We ask you close the Hall doors after 7pm to prevent rowdier evening bookings from disturbing local residents.

There is on-site parking either side of the Hall. Cars shouldn't cause obstructions to the car park, The Green or Cardrona Way.
As a favourite play area for families, please take extra care when arriving, parking and leaving the Hall by vehicle.

After your booking
Please leave the Hall as you found it. Here's some housekeeping tips for the end of your booking:

Stack, wipe down and tidy away all furniture.

Clean and put away Kitchen equipment, mop up any spillages and sweep areas you've used.

All rubbish must be bagged up and popped in the wheelie bins outside. Please separate and recycle what you can.

If people have been outside, please pick up any cigarette ends and rubbish discarded.

Check all rooms to ensure that there are no signs of fire and that everybody has left the building.

Ensure all windows are shut and all lights and taps been turned off. Our toilet lights operate on a sensor.

When leaving, lock all doors and return the key to the key safe.
Hall cleaning should be completed immediately following your booking. If your booking falls during the afternoon/evening, cleaning can be completed by noon the next day provided the Hall is available and this has been agreed by our Booking Co-ordinator.
If the Hall is not cleaned to the required standard, or there is any damage, you are liable for a remediation fee.

Liabilities

When hiring the Hall, you become liable for any damage to the Hall or its contents, and for any excess cleaning that may be required. The Committee shall be the sole judges of the amount involved.

The Committee reserves the right to refuse applications for the hire of the Hall to any person or organisation. In the unlikely event the Hall Committee refuses an application, a clear reason will be given to the applicant.

The Committee doesn't accept any responsibility for anything lost, or stolen, in the Hall or car park or damage to vehicles using the car park.

Alcohol

You're able to consume alcohol in the Hall without seeking permission from the Committee provided:

​Alcohol is only consumed by those +18 years old,

No alcohol is consumed outside the Hall, and
-
No alcohol is sold.

If you'd like to sell alcohol at an event in the Hall, you'll need to get permission from the Committee first. This is because the Committee will need to obtain a licence for the selling of alcohol in the Hall. You would be liable for any costs incurred for this process.
With this sort of licence, you'll need to ensure your guests don't bring alcohol for their own consumption, there may be other terms of the licence to consider. Please discuss this with our Booking Co-ordinator.

You'll be responsible for maintaining appropriate civil order and resolving any conflict or situation that might arise.
In addition, you'll also be responsible for ensuring that any severely intoxicated or injured guests receive appropriate medical attention. Should any matter get out of hand, the Committee is obligated to report incidents to local authorities.
