Exciting News for Cardrona's Pump Track....
We’re delighted to share some fantastic news. Funding has now been approved by Scottish Borders Council to complete our village pump track.
The track as you’ll know, has needed some final touches, including much-needed restoration to a section of the surface to bring it in line with the rest of the track. While this has been on the agenda for a while, there have been some challenges around funding and getting the right arrangements in place. Our good friends at the TVTA supported us in facilitating a new proposal into the council and we’re delighted to have finally secured the funding.
The work is expected to start in the next couple of weeks. I’ll share the confirmed date as soon as we have it.This is a brilliant step forward for Cardrona and for everyone who enjoys the track. It’s a great space to ride, have fun and enjoy the outdoors, whatever your age. Although the track has continued to be well used by bikes and scooters, the rough section has certainly taken some of the fun out of it. With so many of our younger riders enjoying their new scooters, we’re really looking forward to getting the surface back to a condition everyone can enjoy.
We’re also hoping to organise a bit of a fun day for local children to celebrate, alongside scheduling a community effort to give the surrounding area a little spruce-up, with some weeding and general tidying. More on both of these soon.
For now, a huge thank you to everyone who has helped get us this far and to Scottish Borders Council for supporting the project. It’s exciting to see things moving forward, and we can’t wait to see the track back at its best and being enjoyed by the whole community.
Watch this space! 😊
