Hello everyone!
Following our recent AGM, I’m delighted to introduce myself as the new Chair of the Village Hall.
I moved into the village with my family this Spring and immediately fell in love with the community spirit and the stunning part of the valley were lucky enough to call home. What a literal breath of fresh air!
As someone new to the area, I’ve quickly come to appreciate just how special our Village Hall is. Not every community has a place like this at its heart and it’s something I’m sure many of us value and appreciate.
I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in and getting to know more of the people who make our community what it is. I’ll be working alongside our fantastic Booking Coordinator Emma, our new Secretary Tania and of course the rest of the existing team. I’m very excited about what we can all do together.
I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has already been volunteering their time and energy to keep the hall running so far. You have all done such a fantastic job creating a welcoming and well-used hall for our community.
Our aim now is to continue doing more of what already works well, keeping the hall busy, welcoming and useful to everyone in the community.
Just a reminder, The CVA relies on the support of our community to help make a lot of this possible, including through our membership subscriptions. If you’re not already a member, we’d love to have you on board. Every membership helps us continue supporting the hall and the wider community.
If you’d like to support us, you can find out more and sign up here:
Finally, as I settle into the role, I’d love to hear what people would like to see happening. Once I’ve had the chance to meet more of you and get a feel for what people are interested in, we might look at introducing a few new events and activities alongside the things that are already popular.
So, if you see me around, please come and say hello. Whether you’ve been involved with the hall for years or have never been through the doors, I’d love to meet you.
Please do give me a shout if you have any thoughts or ideas for ongoing or future projects within the hall’s remit. If you’re not sure whether something is possible, ask anyway, we can work it out together…
Here’s to the next chapter and hopefully lots of fun along the way.
