It is a sad day in our corner of the village — our dear planted Christmas tree has passed on. His time with us was short, but he brought joy, a few giggles (mostly due to his tiny size), and a whole lot of festive charm. Unfortunately, it was a lack of water that led to his early end. We’ve been made aware that the footpaths linking The Green to Govan’s Way and Cardrona Way to the eastern side of Cardrona Playpark have become overgrown and are not only an eyesore, but also causing access issues. Looking into this, we recognised the need for something to be done. While these footpaths are not part of our responsibility to maintain, after much consideration we decided that it’s important they’re given a general tidy and cut this year, just before the winter.
