Our village hall is at the heart of the community, but it can not run itself. We urgently need to fill these two essential volunteer roles, by April 2026, to keep the hall open and active.
If these roles are not filled, the hall will have to close and all activities will be suspended.
Chair position - essential
·Provide leadership to the charity managing the village hall and green
·Organise and facilitate committee meetings
·Support good governance and decision-making
·Represent the village and users
·Ensure charitable aims and annual tasks are met
Secretary - essential
Checking and responding to village hall emails
Redirecting enquiries to the appropriate committee members
Checking the village post box
Managing and updating village hall whiteboards / noticeboards
Booking coordinator(s) - desired, can be a shared position!
·Manage bookings for the village hall and village green
·Act as the main contact for hire enquiries
·Maintain booking calendars and records

Many hands make lighter work, and there are several other roles we would love to see filled to help share the load.
Event Coordinator
Organise and oversee community events and activities
Support planning and smooth running of events
Membership Coordinator
Manage member enquiries, records, and renewals
Welcome new members and support existing members
Act as the main point of contact for all membership matters
Handyman (-woman)
Help with maintenance and repairs in the village hall
Help with installation of Christmas lights
Cardrona Community Council Representative
Represent Cardrona at Innerleithen Community Council meetings
Share Cardrona residents’ views, especially on wind farm–related issues
Act as a two-way link between the village and the Community Council
