About the event

Update

This'll now be taking place at Cardrona Village Hall. We've switched the location for our workshop to ensure we're not battling any adverse weather!

We’ll use our CVA community day on Sun 8th Sept as an opportunity to formally vote on the graffiti art placement. This vote will be open to all CVA members.

If you are not a CVA member yet, and you would like a say, please make sure you subscribe on or before the day.

What's happening?

Spectrum Arts, Edinburgh, will be joining us for a structured street art and graffiti workshop at our newly refurbished Pump + Jump. This creative session is open to anyone between 12 and 18 years old, of any painting/drawing ability who would be interested in learning the skills needed to create graffiti art murals.

Each participant will work collaboratively as a team to create some unique graffiti artwork with guidance from an experienced and professional artist. The facilitating artist holds a valid PVG/CRB certificate.

Refreshments will be provided during the session; we suggest old clothes and shoes are worn.

Why graffiti?

Spectrum Art advocates using graffiti and street art as a way to connect generations and explore creativity through contemporary means, breaking down traditional barriers to the art world. Learning through these purpose-designed and structured sessions whilst drawing upon and developing artistic ideas promotes confidence, creative thinking, independence and a positive attitude and disposition in the participant. All this whilst brightening up our surroundings, win win!
